Does this sound familiar?
You’re eating healthy one week. You’re eating poorly the next week. You’re eating healthy one week. You’re….. you get the point.
You’re in a vicious cycle that never seems to end. You arrive home every day with the family asking you, “Mom, what’s for dinner?” and most nights it’s just easier to get fast food or eat out. You probably know that you need a plan for healthier eating but putting one together is easier said than done, right?
And when you get on a roll, you’re just plain exhausted by the amount of time you’re spending planning, prepping, and cooking healthy meals. If you’re tired of feeling like a hamster on a wheel when it comes to making healthy meals for your family, and can’t seem to develop a consistent healthy eating plan that doesn’t exhause you… you’ve come to the right place.
I understand exactly where you are right now.
I struggled with this same problem for years. And although I love to cook and enjoy healthy meals with my family, the pressure of a demanding career and busy family life always seemed to leave meal prep lingering at the bottom of my list of priorities.
You might identify with this yourself. You see, for most of us knowing we should eat healthy isn’t the problem; finding time to make it happen is what derails us. After a long, exhausting week at work, the idea of prepping meals isn’t the most appetizing.
In my case, I would get on a meal planning roll for a few weeks and have delicious and healthy meals prepped and cooked, but a few days of working overtime, traveling, or some other random occurrence would knock my healthy meal prep plan off course.
But I was determined to crack the code on how to consistently cook healthy meals at home and develop routines that I could stick with. I was literally exhausted of trying to prep and cook every single day of the week, or doing “marathon” sessions on the weekend.
So, what did I do about all of this craziness?
When I attended school to become a Certified Health Coach, I didn’t expect that most of what I learned would eventually be applied to my own life and with my own family.
I not only gained an entirely new set of knowledge on Holistic Nutrition, but I also learned ways to make eating healthy more fun, less complicated, and easier.
In the guide “Smart Tips for Easy Meal Planning & Prep I not only put together a guide helping families know what to eat, but I also outlined all of the steps in how to prep and cook that food so feeding the family healthy meals doesn’t drain you.
The guide has all of the steps that finally helped me to be more organized when it comes to meal planning, be focused when I grocery shop, know what the healthy food options are, and prep and cook delicious meals. And it teaches you how to save time and money too!
It was more than just knowing what to eat or how to eat healthfully. It’s about creating routines and systems to be consistent and provide a healthy eating lifestyle for our families and ourselves.
Having a roadmap can really help in making things clear and helping you to get on track, and stay on track.
Habits are formed by outlining a clear sequence of behaviors that can be easily followed.
I know this from my professional experience working in mental health for so many years. But I also know this from personal experience as a busy, working mother. It’s much easier to stay on track when you have it all laid out step-by-step, because as we know life can quickly get in the way.
Having a plan sets you up to be successful.
You see, what I’ve learned over the years is that most people have good ideas about what’s healthy. The problem lies in putting it all together. You don’t just need to know what to eat. You need to know how to put it all together without it becoming so overwhelming.
You’ll be much more likely to stick with healthy eating when you have a plan. Repeating the same actions continuously lays the foundation for habits. The routines become second nature, and you don’t have to “think” so hard about it anymore. I’m referring to things like:
- Planning out your family’s meals every week
- Knowing which foods to automatically grab when you go grocery shopping
- Following a routine to prep foods and make life easier during the week
- Having most of your meals and snacks on standby for all the hungry family members
By having an automatic set of routines, you can still feed your family healthy meals even when life’s unexpected events show up.
Mastering the basics is what will set you up for success.
People who have used the system outlined in the guide (including myself obviously) report amazing results like:
- Having a total overhaul of their eating habits
- Finally having routines they can follow to make eating healthy simple and achievable
- Always knowing “what’s for dinner”
- Being able to pack healthier lunches
- Choosing better snacks
- Saving loads of money on their grocery bill and eating out
And making tiny changes one after another can accumulate to greater things too, like improving your energy level, sleeping better at night, and having less emotional ups and downs (especially in kids).
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be hard.
I’ve been a dedicated professional for the past 20 years and it’s my mission to support my community with tools and resources like this guide, so you can be healthier and more balanced in your life, career, and home.
I created the “Smart Tips for Easy Meal Planning & Prep because I know how a hectic, stressful lifestyle can lead to other poor habits like a poor diet, poor sleeping patterns, poor relationships, poor performance at work, you name it. Unfortunately, it’s a ripple effect.
But the opposite can be true for developing positive, healthy habits.
One change is sometimes all it takes to start the momentum towards healthier habits!
Even if you’re at the drive-thru so often that the server knows you by name – you’re not hopeless.
I’ve put together the simple steps you need to get started on the right track to healthier meals for your family.
The 5 steps in the guide are the foundation for doing this. And it’s what most people never learn to focus on.
The guide has everything you need to get on the right track to better eating habits for your family.
