Have you ever been at work and glanced at the time; you then realize that half the day is over and you haven’t moved not once since sitting at your desk that morning? Or maybe you work from home and get so engrossed in your tasks that you hardly move all day. Could apps that help you move more at work be the answer to staying healthy?

This is all too common nowadays in our fast-paced (and sedentary) office settings. Employees are often chained to the desk working on projects or taking one phone call after another. Being sedentary is a prescription for a myriad of health problems. Inactivity for long stretches of time has been linked to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension. When you sit for long periods of time, this takes a toll on your health and mood.

I’ve put together a few of the apps that I’ve used or discussed with private coaching clients and others.  Using an activity and break reminder app is an easy, no-brainer way to sprinkle movement in throughout your day at work to stay healthier for the long haul.

Check the apps out for yourself and select the one that makes sense for you.
